This shoreline is bordered by a tropical rain forest paradise. As Grupo Mayan guests view the sights of the jungle from either horseback or by a jeep safari, of which both are readily obtainable as immediate means of transport in this area. The location is perfect for various water related sports due to the clear, blue-green tinted water. Grupo Mayan visitors can readily obtain necessary equipment from many of the local vendors, which rent all that you may require. The local beach has such venders all along it so you are afforded a large choice here. Keep in mind that sunscreen lotion is difficult to locate here so be sure to bring a good supply from Grupo Mayan resort.

Boca traditionally consists of a huge cluster of shops and homes constructed at the point of a minor river which dumps into a bay. This river tends to defines the lifestyle of Boca as far as its composition and texture as well as its characteristic color. The beach although very nice is not especially appealing.

Boca is most noteworthy because it is essentially the very last tip from which Grupo Mayan guests may leave for Jelapa as well as other local beach area serviced by a water taxi. A stroll to the beautiful and refreshing waterfalls located in Jelapa is well worth the effort and will present the Grupo Mayan guest with a somewhat of a surprise. If you happen to be a very adventurous person you can take a frightful climb all the way up the right hand side of the waterfalls. This is a scary climb because as you climb this steep cliff you must hold onto a nearby vine for your support. As it has happened in the past this vine is prone to breaking and giving away as you ascend the cliff. Should you be successful in your climb you are properly rewarded when reaching the summit with a jump from the 30 foot rock. This leap is directly into a small pool located at the summit of the waterfall. This is a very dangerous act so do not go there alone as should you hurt yourself you will need help in evacuating yourself.

At the very bottom of this waterfalls, Grupo Mayan guests will encounter several small cafes which serve not only cold drink but also beverages such as coffee and espresso. Although they do have a full menu to choose from most of the patrons stick to simple drinks and possibly some tostados. The workers are pleasant and very courteous and they will not pressure you into purchasing anything.

The people of Boca de Tomatlan are friendly and on those days when Grupo Mayan visitors desire to remove yourself from the usual paths afforded the tourist and they venture forth with the locals this is a great place to do so. Here the Grupo Mayan guest will witness a world of isolated beaches, pristine jungles and a general touch of peace with nature.
